How it differs from conventional radios

Analogue radios are limited by transmitter coverage and the number of physical channels. Radios that run on mobile networks have neither limitation: they can communicate anywhere there is signal, and the number of groups depends only on the software configuration.

In exchange, the device relies on public network infrastructure — a factor to weigh when deploying in areas without coverage or in situations where telecommunications infrastructure is disrupted.

Centralised management

All devices are provisioned with accounts and managed centrally: adding or removing group members, revoking access when a device is lost, and updating software remotely without having to recall the handset.
